Description

A pessary is a medical device used for uterine prolapse.

Amédée Dumontpallier invented his annular pessary during the 1870s’. This pessary was of great improvment : it was made with a very soft and very elastic watch spring covered with rubber.

The present model is a very large example, numbered 12, and measuring almost 9cm diameter.

Unfortunatly, here the rubber became hard and the pessary is now totally glued in its box. Netherless, a rare model, nice to display preserved in its original cardboard box in perfect condition.

Box : 10,7 cm diameter
