A very fine French “poche de mineur” or large mining compass set preserved it wooden box signed “Charles Chevalier Ingénieur Opticien Breveté Palais Royal 163 Paris”, so datable between 1832-1849.
The fine set preserves its gimbaled compass with the signature, its half-circle of 23cm diameter, one plumb (on two even if only one was use at one time), two pliers and four screws mounted in pear tree.
Everything is preserved in its original wooden box with leather wallet.
The box measures 25×16 cm.
