This rolling ruler came from a deceased estate in Sussex, England along with the proportional dividers by Abraham, which are listed separately in my Ganymede Antiques Fleaglass stock. My guess is that they were always associated, as they date from exactly the same period. The ruler is scratch engraved with the owners initials I D and the date 1811. This looks entirely right for the period, so I do not doubt the engraving is contemporary with the ruler.
Generally good condition, with some small marks and scratches, as shown in the photos.
