Description

A very early example of a French brass sector with four sights made by a countryside maker unknown, named “François Oriot”.

The sector is made with two heavy and thick arms of brass on which side is only engraved two lignes : “Les cordes des arcs” & les “Les poligones” on one side ; and “Les partyes Esgalles” & “Les Corde” on the other side.

The sector measures 18,1 cm lenght and 7mm thichness.

An exceptionnal survivor from the early production in France of the mathematical and surveying sector during the 17th century.
