Description

This lithotome is a modification of the instrument invented by Frere Come during the 18th century with curved concealed blade. The instrument has its spring and its bulbous octogonal handles.

The instrument signed by Charrière is datable circa 1840s’.

This is a very rare form and size for a lithotome measuring only 15,2 cm lenght (see the second image with the instrument in my hand), so used for children.

This very rare and little survivor losts its screw which slided along the spring for open, less or more, the blade.

Anyway, a superb and rare example.
