Description
All American microscope slide collection c.1880-1920 consisting of exactly 90 examples by top makers with labels intact and in generally excellent condition. Subject matter includes botany, zoology, whole insects and insect parts, minerology, geology, marine and anatomy. 45 makers represented, mostly from NY or NJ. Very few retailed by microscope makers (after market). These are some of the best examples by top slide makers in the US. Some slides are obviously worth more than others but I have set the average slide price at $10 per example. Mahogany case (latter holds all 90 slides and is $200 more). A finer collection you will not see for quite some time. Makers include Day, Julien, Carter, Bagley (gold), Atwood, Booth, Mallonee, Woodman, Rakestraw, Van Brunt, Gowan, Hall, Walker, Timmins, Shultz, Zabriskie, Hyatt and Green ( as well as 10 one off examples).
