A good mahogany box for amputation surgery by Charrière Collin & Cie, dated around 1880.

The box is almost complete with its series of 8 knives, its large saw and its small saw, a powerful pliers of rather unusual shape, etc. All instruments have ebony handles.

Only two small instruments are missing: a forceps and a curved needle or erigne.

All instruments are signed by Charrière or Charrière & Collin or Charrière & Cie, there is no replacement.

The box measures 41×10.5 cm.
