Description
A quite early Ernst Leitz microscope bearing the serail number “1872” so datable circa 1873.
This very elegant form is a direct heritage from the form introduced during the 1850s’ and the 1860s’ by Kellner then Kellner and Belthle. Leitz will stop to produce microscope of this C-shaped stand in 1885.
The present example is in great genuine condition, complete and unpolished.
It preserved two original eyepieces (numberd I and III) and two original objectives (numbered 4 and 7), two diaphgrams, a round glass micrometer and few slides (several blank and one by Rodig in Hamburg).
Everything is well preserved in the original mahogany case measuring 28,5×13,5x10cm.
