An early dry compass signed “Per Egidio Filati in Ancona” and dated “1614”, preserved in its splendid tainted turned boxwood case.

Anonco is a city located in the middle of Italia, on the east coast.

The boxwood case measures 9,5 cm diameter and the compass itself 5,5cm diameter.

The wood turning is of superbe quality with fine patine and trace of age.

A fine scientific/maritime instrument combining the great art of woodturning and travelling.
