A quite unusual shape of a plaine brass French protractor signed “Sautout-Choizy à Paris” and datable circa 1690-1700
The protractor measures 11,7 cm diameter. It is divided with two scales of 0 to 180 and 180 to 0 degrees, plus two unusual lines in the middle of the half-circle.
Something is mabe lacking in the hole in the center of the instrument but anyway a very rare form of an early French protractor.
