Description
English, possibly from the end of the 18th century, the body constructed of hand blown glass with a lacquers brass collar at the top, the compound eyepiece with screw focusing, housed in its original card case with marbled paper and faux shagreen effect paper to the outside. To use the viewer it is placed over the insect to be viewed and the eyepiece screwed up or down to focus. Height 7cm
