Bifacial engraved sperm whale tooth with :

– The upper side engraved with a putto (blowing a foghorn) riding a unicorn with on the right a horse and on the left a mermaid emerging from the water and a floating bird.

– On the back, the English coat of arms: a central medallion with the coat of arms and the motto “HONI SOIT QVI MAL Y PENSE” surmounted by a royal crown. The medallion surrounded by a crowned lion and a unicorn resting on a ribbon.

Dimension : length of 16.5 cm.

Made in England – 19th century.
