Description

A set of three C1890s face-massage rollers by Henry Simon. This case and instrument bear his name but not his location, which I believe was Berlin and Vienna.  The handles are Bakelite and the rollers are ivorine.  Each is 18 cm in length and marked  HENRY SIMON with letters differentiating each roller end.  The accompanying 16 pp direction booklet emphasizes its cosmetic benefits; however, it claims that it is effective against migraine and neuralgia and that it could also be used to help fade  scars caused by  small-pox, burns and wounds. The booklet contains endorsements dated 1896.
