Description
Equinoctial sundial with octagonal silver plate, supported by three turned feet, with a compass.
The rim of the plate is signed by the well-known German maker “Christoph Schoener”.
The gilt brass latitude arc is divided from 10 to 90 degrees.
Silver hour circle graduated 3-12-9 with frieze decoration on top.
Gilt brass rotating needle gnomon in the centre of the circle.
The back of the compass in gilt brass has a list of cities with their latitudes.

Note: rare German signature.
Augsburg dated around 1690.
