Description

Offered for sale is a one meter-long French wrought iron divider, exquisitely decorated with deeply profiled mouldings, hearts and crosses cut out of foliate designs. File worked legs form various geometric shapes. In excellent condition and fully functional. Dividers of this size were typically used by stonemasons to layout architectural elements or by shipwrights or coopers for large scale carpentry measurements. From the south of France.

Condition: Black spots and dark patina, pitting of the metal in some areas
