Description
This very-well crafted and mechanically elaborate American patent model is a hefty cut above what one normally sees in American patent models of the period and clearly the work of a skilled professional-model maker. U.S. Patent # 95,863 was issued to M.D. Whipple on October 12, 1869 for a “Machine for the Manufacturing of Felt”. Both application and issue tags are present. Two small brackets ( see last image) have been restored to their original form and overall the model is in very good condition.
