A fine, untouched J.B. Dancer 2 1/2 inch refractor on cabriolet leg stand with two additional eyepieces-cased. Achromatic doublet objective lens with lens cover. Low, medium and high power extension tube eyepieces with solar filters. 12 inch stand with cabriolet folding legs. Unsigned but with an original J.B. Dancer trade label in the interior of the lid of the mahogany case (measures 32 x 10 x 4 inches). Overall length is 50 inches with the low power tube and stands 15 inches tall. Original lacquer shows spotty oxidation overall and two areas of heavy oxidation on terminus of body tube from salty fingers (no verdigris). The additional eyepieces show no useage. Wonderful, clear optics with extimated magnification of 200X using the high power objective. Small dent to barrel at midpoint (don’t ask me how as this is NOT a contact location). Rack and pinion focussing is smooth and flawless. Weight is 10 kg.
