Description

A fine 3″ brass box sextant by Cary, London with presentation inscription from RMC and dated May, 1851. Internally perfect with 99% +  original lacquer, silvered scale to 120 degrees and silvered vernier, with magnifier. Externally, a little more worn but with a presentation inscription to a gentleman cadet and dated 1851. In addition, scales for angles and multipliers/divisors up to 90 degrees. Peep sight, twin collapsible light filters and in original, working condition.
