Description

A fine cased insectoscope/field microscope with draw tube focusing and good optics (10X). Found in it’s original brass sleeve with threaded end caps. Large, complete and complex construction to be used with or without the base cap. For field examination of flora/fauna, hand held with option of free hand magnification or captured subject. Easy access through side slots. 2 1/4 length x 1 1/2 inch diameter. Good early knurling/roping. c. 1820. No damage to the variable length compound lens. Could be used as a linen prover, map or stamp examining device. Can be used with or without it’s protective sleeve.
