Description
A very fine and early example of the Pfeiffer’s new preparation microscope, with erecting prism ocular, first described by the German bactieriologist Richard Friedrich Johann Pfeiffer in 1899 in the volume 27 of the Centralblatt für Bakteriologie and first appeared in the Leitz catalogue in 1905 (see the last image).
The example is signed two times by Leitz but doesn’t have any serial number.
The present example is a very fine example, perfectly preserved, fitting exactly with the Leitz’s catalogue 1905 : one ocular (x8) and three signed Leitz objectives numbered 1, 2 and 3.
The condition is excellent and in perfect working order.
The two detachable hand rest are present and complete.
A not-so-easy to find Leitz traveling and dissecting microscope, here in perfect condition.
The box measures 25×17×8,5cm.
