Description

SOLD – The telescope measures 8″ ( 20 cms ) closed and 28″ ( 71 cms ) fully open with a main lens diameter of just over 1.5″ ( 4.3 cms ). Signed on the first draw, ‘Brooks, Ludgate Street, London from Dollonds’, so it is undoubtedly a Dollond telescope. Alfred Brooks worked at 41 Ludgate Street from 1849 – 1859.

The telescope has a lens cap and dust slider and works extremely well giving an excellent clear image. There are no dents and the optics are damage free.

The tripod stand has a height of 14″ ( 35.5 cms ) to the top of the clamp. The column can be unscrewed to access a large thread which is usuallly used to fix to a fence post etc when outdoors.

There is no case.
