Giovanni M. Della Torre Nuove osservazioni. Intorno la storia naturale
In Napoli, Donato Campo, 1763
In-8° (mm 176×110). XVI, 172, , VI folded copper plates.
Water stain affecting the upper part of the first 2 pages.
Contemporary vellum binding, calligraphic title on spine.
Very rare and first edition of the work of the roman Giovanni M. Della Torre, important because of the experiments and observations he made through a microscope made by himself, where instead of a lens there is a little glass sphere. This allowed to avoid in part the chromatism.
The first two chapters are devoted to the description and use of the microscope, the other concern the microscopic structure of plants and animals.
