Description
A good 1 1/8 inch (3 cm.) diameter, three draw telescope with mahogany barrel (no flaws to wood or optics) mounted on adjustable brass stand (12 inch max. height) that threads into a brass ferrule on the lid of the mahogany box. The telescope is 16 inches long with 20X magnification. Ideal for target shooting/spotting, surveying or birding. Height and angle adjustable, full 360 degree rotation. Telescope stores in mahogany box for transport. Wear to the brass but lots of original lacquer present. No splits to the mahogany barrel. Telescope can be freed from the brass clamp to use as a hand held pocket telescope. Compresses to 6 inches. No object lens cap. c.1880. Unsigned. Case is 16 x 3 x 4 inches tall (stable on a table top) with both brass closure hooks. A little gem for the sportsman.
