Description
Hybrid microscope manufactured with contributions from 3 of the best microscope makers in the USA. The base is a solid double pillar structure made by Zentmayer and the rest is a microscope manufactured by Bausch&Lomb from the iconic design of EH Griffith. The base corresponds to a microscope of the “Grand American” model and is signed Jos Zentmayer, Maker, Philadelphia. The serial number is 26 and the base is rotary and calibrated.
The limb and the rest of the microscope correspond to a model known as Improved Griffith Club Microscope, designed by Erza H. Griffith in Fairport and manufactured by Bausch&Lomb in Rochester. This one corresponds to an initial model of those manufactured since it has a fine focusing system that was later simplified.
The set is an attractive microscope that collects the best of American manufacturers.
