A late C19th Ikelmer Terrestrial globe. The 12″ ( 30,5 cm) diameter globe comprises of 12 coloured gores, depicting the world c.1895, showing shipping routes with crossing times.It is held in a heavy unique cast iron standard and the globe can be turned with the handle. The globe is made by “Ikelmer rue Amelot, Paris , par Geographe R. Barbot et Gravee par L. Sonnet”. The cast iron standard is signed with Anemogene – n-1 – De M gneur. – Rougerie – Bte S.G.D.G. 70 cm high and the globe is in good condition.
