EXTREMELY RARE EARLY 18th C. SUBSTANTIAL DOUBLE SIDED GUNNERY QUADRANT SIGNED ON THE SPIRIT LEVEL COVER: MADE BY THO WRIGHT INSTRUMt MAKER TO HIS MAJESTY. ( GEORGE 1st 1714-27 GEORGE 2nd 1727-60 ) THE QUADRANT HAS A 90 DEGREE SCALE ON THE PRIMARY SIDE DIVIDED IN SINGLE DEGREES, THE INDEX ARM WITH SPIRIT LEVEL & VERNIER READING TO 5 MINUTES OF ARC. ON THE REVERSE ANOTHER 90 DEGREE SCALE WITH PLUMB BOB ( ADDED ) SUSPENDED FROM A SMALL BRASS PILLAR. PLEASE NOTE THE ORDNANCE BROAD ARROW MARKS ( CROWS FOOT ) SOME OF THE ORIGINAL GOLD LACQUER REMAINS. WEIGHT 3.1/2 POUNDS. RADIUS 8.1/2" INCHES
