Description
SOLD – A large 4 draw brass telescope, signed near the eye piece, ‘R. Neill, Belfast. Warranted’.
The 2 inch objective has a small nick to it as can be seen at 5 o’clock on picture 4. This does not affect the excellent views seen through this telescope.
It measures 12″ closed and 45″ fully open, so far larger than standard telescopes of the time. With eye piece shutter and lens cap.
Robert Neill worked from 1805 – 1840, later ‘Neill & Sons’ and then ‘Neill Bros’, so an early example from the Neill dynasty.
