Description
Large brass equinoctial ring dial with two rings and wide central bridge with slider. It is fitted with a mobile throne topped by a ring. In addition to the usual numerals, it contains rare inscriptions in Arabic (probably for the Ottoman market).
The ends and both sides of the central bridge are engraved with an exceptional scroll and checkerboard pattern typical of the 1720’s. In the centre of each of these patterns is a medallion bearing the signature: “Petrus” and “Hilton” on the front and “fecit” and “Vienna” on the back.

After 37 years in Le Louvre des Antiquaires, the Delalande gallery moved early June 2015 to 35 rue de Lille, 75007 Paris, on the other side of the Seine River in the well known antic shops area "le Carré Rive Gauche".
Our main specialties are, since 1976, Marine and Scientific instruments, Tobacco and Opium objects, Curiosities and Great Canes.
We participate to international antique fairs (TEFAF Maastricht) and are unique partner of the French Maritime Museum.
