History
In China, the dolls have been recorded as far back as the Ming Dynasty, with some still seeing use in the 1950s. During this time, the prevailing attitude of female modesty made it inappropriate for a woman to make gestures or touch parts of her own body. to describe. Therefore, when visiting a doctor, a woman would indicate medical problems by referring to the doll’s respective anatomy instead.

The dolls depicted a naked woman lying on her side or back, positioned so that a user could point to any part of the body.
