Description
A nice pair of T shell frame reading glasses in faux tortoise shell case (flawless) with blank hallmarked silver shield (C.L. & S-Charles Lyster & Son, Chester) c.1900. Chatelaine style with chain and ornate clip (tests for at least 0.900 silver), blue velvet lined. The glasses have good, low power reading magnification with an old hinge repair and a nibble to the frame on the outer edge but the lenses are not scratched. Faux case measures 6 1/2 x 1 3/4 x 3/4 inches thick. Nice remnant of the late Victorian era.
