Exceptional 18th century English boxwood nocturnal used for night navigation.  Signed B.D. and dated 1715.  Inscribed “For both bears.”  Diameter approx. 4 1/2 inches.  Length approx. 10 1/2 inches. Excellent condition. No repairs.
