SOLD – A lacquered brass pocket sextant by Cary, London with the lid inscribed:

Royal Military College.
Presented to
Gentleman Cadet RobertG. Wale
for Attention to and Progress
in
Military Surveying.
November 1837.
 
The instrument is complete with its telescope, eye-piece sun filter and mirror adjusting key. No dents or damage. Complete with obvious wear to the lacquer and contained in a plush mahogany flamed case. An early example.
