A very rare model of a miniature and folding travelling microscope signed “Dixey Brighton” and datable circa 1840.
This model of small travelling microscope is very unusual and was developped by the Dixey firm.
The condition is ok with its original mirror, plate, optics, etc. but the plate cannot stay in place and a piece of brass was fixed under the plate and cannot be used now.
Anyway, the microscope opticaly complete and this is a very rare British microscope.
The little box measures closed 12×5×4cm
