Description
A very early example of an instrument from the production of Férat à Paris. We know that Férat was already active during the Revolution and established already in 1791 in the Bernier’s house.
The present example, with its case with Fleur-de-lys can be dated before the Revolution so late 1780s’.
This double telescope graphometer is of superbe quality with both initiales of Férat, “F” with floral additions.
The half-circle is divided two times from 0 to 180e degrees.
Both telescopes are complete and in working condition.
The stand has a fine focus.
Some little accident at the telescope but without no problem for using them, and two screw for the fine focus are lacking.
The instrument is superbly cased in its original shaped case in red morroco with fleur-de-lys.
The telescopes measures 40cm lenght and the case 43x18x18cm
