Offered for sale is a nice example of an R&J Beck 1/10th inch, approx. 80x magnification brass microscope objective lens with its correct brass canister – note oil immersion is required. Lovely usable and display objective, especially if you have an antique Beck instrument. It’s got RMS thread and rotation adjustment to cater for different coverslip thicknesses.
The objective being an R&J Beck will date to the period after 1865, when the company name was changed from the previous Smith, Beck & Beck.
