Offered for sale is a very nice example of an R&J Beck 3 inch, approx. 2x magnification brass microscope objective lens together with a non-matching brass canister. Lovely usable and display objective, especially if you have an antique Beck instrument. It’s got RMS thread and a high working distance for very low power applications.
The objective being an R&J Beck will date to the period after 1865, when the company name was changed from the previous Smith, Beck & Beck.
