A mid-1930’s a scale bronze patent “CQR” single fluke plough anchor with hinged shank.
Developed and patented in 1933 by mathematician Sir Geoffrey Ingram Taylor. It was designed and patented as an anchor for flying boats.
The CQR initials are an acronym for “Secure”.
