Description
Every gentleman’s desk needs one of these !! A Victorian copy of a French Revolutionary guillotine/combination cigar cutter in bright steel on a later, solid oak plinth. Standing 12″ tall on a 8 x 8″ plinth, this highly detailed working scale model is both decorative and functional. The blade is released by a pin at the top and is spring loaded for additional cuts to the cigar tip. The victim/cigar bed locks and tilts. The metal work is superb, finely cut and decorated, right down to the base. Heavy construction ( 5 kg. mass), chiseled steel and a solid oak base, stained to the same color as the guillotine !!! The workmanship is outstanding with no detail left untouched. See photos for verification. Victorian in age c.1870? I have never seen another example of this caliber !!
