Description
Silver gilt framed tortoiseshell short handle lorgnettes, probably French, circa 1830
Oval 1.5 X magnification glass lenses pivot out from the handle and hold firm for use.
Hand cut polished tortoiseshell held with three gold capped domed twin pin screws.
The silver gilt lens frame with stamped lozenge shaped probably makers mark SL with a candelabra, two gold domes stamped with worn marks and some wear.
Length folded 5,3/4″ or 144mm, weight 26 grams.
All in very good condition with no damage or repair.
