We are offering a selection of 19th-century surgical knives, all with ebony handles. Some are signed and some unsigned. They would useful in filling empty slots in surgical kits. The largest and earliest, by Dumay, is a remarkable 42.25 cms! The handle is silver mounted. Some staining on blade but no rust or corrosion. $200.00. According to J.P. Martin (“Instrumentation Chirurgicale et Coutellerie en France”,2013:110) Dumay was active in the 1820s. The rest are $100.oo each.
