Description

Elegant terrestrial globe in engraved paper on a blackened tripod foot.

The globe indicates in the cartouche: “written astronomically and where are the three voyages of Captain Cook, his discoveries and those of La Pérouse on New Holland, New Guinea and on the western part of North America”.

Signed “DELAMARCHE”, geographer rue du Jardinet in Paris and dated 1811.

Dimensions: height of 64 cm, sphere diameter of 35 cm.
