Country of manufacture
UK and Ireland
This genuine original British Admiralty navigation chart was first published in 1880 from information compiled for the Government surveys of that year. It has large corrections to July 1892 and small corrections to 1919. Prominent navigation lights are depicted with an orange mark, and the chart has good coastal detail. Calcutta can be seen at the centre top. Depths are in fathoms where 1 fathom equals 6 feet. This is a really nice chart & would look good in a frame. It has seen very light use from the southern part of Ceylon to the north part of Sumatra, which is the frequent route of ships bound for Singapore.
