Description

Four large plates by Gautier d’Agoty printed in colors and pasted together to form two entire human bodies, woman and man, showing the sexual organs as well as their vascular and lymphatic system.

This plates comes from the “Anatomie des parties de la génération de l’homme et de la femme, représentées avec leurs couleurs naturelles, selon le nouvel art, jointe à l’angéologie de tout le corps humain, et à ce qui concerne la grossesse et les accouchemens” published by 1773 and is the last work of Gautier d’Agoty father who introducted the four-color print method several years earlier.

This plates are particulary interesting for two reasons : they were mounted two by two as it should be for presentation and education, and they are waxed as only few Gautier d’Agoty prints which proves of particular quality.

Superbe representation of man and woman sexual organs and of the blue and red vascular and lymphatic system.

Average size : 68×25 cm
