Very rare 18th century english brass travelling inkwell in its original boiled leather carrying case with quill pen.
Very rare brass travelling inkwell in its original boiled leather carrying case with quill pen.
The top part unscrews from the inkwell and the tip of the top section also unscrews to reveal the quill trimmer which is reversed round to fit back inside the penner.
This is a particularly good example as it comes with its boiled leather case which is moulded to fit a quill along its length.
It is extremely hard, if not near impossible now to still find one with its original case intact.
In excellent condition.
Boiled leather case : 13 cm length
brass inkwell 10,5 cm

Eppursimuove is located in the northwest of Italy. I deal with antique scientific instruments and their history. This passion has turned into a profession that leads me every day in search of ancient instruments that helped us to observe, measure, explore and know the sky and the earth. They still amaze and make us wonder, as they did for their original makers and users. For this reason they must be preserved and collected.
