Description
Novelty enamelled silver Life Belt compass fob/charm, circa 1880 Compass needle pivoted between the front and back glass lenses.
Compass points painted on the double sided gilt dial, also enamelled in red and blue to the front of the life belt.
All in very good original condition with no damage or repair, some minor enamel losses, the glass lenses slightly hazy but in no way obscuring.
Lively blued steel compass needle readily points north. 1″ or 26mm diameter, weight 7 grams.
The silver unmarked but fully tested as solid sterling silver.
