Description
A two draw telescope forms the handle of the cane, an end cap unscrews to reveal a compass. The body of the telescope is covered in shark skin and is inlaid with black baleen. One length of the baleen is missing and the wooden part of the end cap is cracked, but stable. Optics are in good working order. The ferule on the cane is engraved patent. There is no maker’s name.

I have manufactured, restored, bought and sold scientific instruments for 63 years and I am still active in the business. In 1976 I opened a shop in Bermondsey, London and then went on to trade in the Portobello Road, now I am only selling online. I am a founder member of the SIS Society.
