In the pre-antibiotic age VD  wreaked havoc on the health of both men and women. For men suffering from gonorrhea, a pus-like discharge from the tip of the penis was among the most common and unpleasant symptoms. Ware’s Gonorrheal Apron, patented in the US on January 1,1888, addressed this condition and functioned to contain the discharge and prevent it from soiling clothing. We are offering a rare example , unused and in its original labeled carton. The “apron” is  stamped with the patent number. In the four+ decades we’ve been buying and selling medical antiques this is only the second  example we’ve seen.
