Description
Large, tooled leather wrapped solid brass telescope, circa 1860, the drawer hand engraved Lennie 3 Lord Street Liverpool. Lennie were better known 19th century makers in Edinburgh Scotland The cylindrical brass body, turned and fine knurled brass mounts. The single drawer with stop, contains four lenses with sliding eyepiece shutter. The objective lens with sliding shade and shutter. All in very good condition with no chips, splits or cracks, the tubes with typical light scratches and small insignificant dents. Length closed 20″ or 508mm, open 38,1/4″ or 975mm, largest diameter 2,1/2″ or 63mm, objective lens diameter 1,1/2″ or 38mm. The good clear all original optics offer a sharp image with about 10x magnification.
