The ivory ban

From 6 June, it will be illegal to deal in items containing or made of elephant ivory under the Ivory Act 2018 unless they are registered as exempt or certified as exempt.

Fleaglass and its dealers comply without exception with this law, and items containing ivory will not be permitted on the site without registration documents explicitly mentioned in the listing.

Many early instruments contain ivory and bone components, and identifying the latter is an important part of being an instrument dealer; items described as having bone components can be bought with confidence that they do not contain ivory.

New items are listed on Fleaglass every day. As site managers we will monitor all listings, and have communicated with all Fleaglass dealers about this important issue.

If you believe that an item may contain ivory, please use the inquiry form to contact the dealer, and also let is know by emailing [email protected].
