Mid-18th century unsigned Screw Barrel microscope with a splendid turned ivory handle. The microscope is constructed of lacquered brass. The stage with mounted condensing lens is hold against the large screw by a spiral brass spring. Six numbered objectives are provide with 5 ivory dome type covers. As asseccories included is a brass slider with a glass plate. The set comes in an early shagreen original wooden case lined with green velvet inside. Measurements 18 x 8 x 5 cm.
